Final Note:

“Y’know what they say… gratitude is wantin’ what you already have.”

“Well, they say a lot ‘uh muck.”

“…y’don’t agree?”

“Land, no. Y’can’t be thankful for shit if y’ ain’t been satisfied. Want is desire. Want is when you’ve got a lack uh somethin’, even if it’s a lack uh’a lack of somethin’.”

“So, y’think you can’t be gratifie’ before your satisfie’?”

“That’s ab-suh-loot-ly what I think.”

“’N those who are thankful t’be alive, then? Wha’bout them?”

“Either they’re fine act-ors or men’ally dee-ranged or—”

“Oh, come now—”

“OR, I say! Or they’ve gone n’ got ‘emselves satisfied with their lackin’. A pro-pur min-i-mole-ist.”

– Two Tillers discuss the relationship between gratitude, want, and satisfaction
