(Above: Lunch at the little table – a literal and figurative step forward in the process of downsizing. Padre and I had Master Blend chuck steak, homemade cabbage slaw, and a garden fresh salad. Madre partook of the salad, too, alongside her ham sandwich.)
Active Summary: This day I began by performing the standard morningly ritual. This was ensued by a 1.5 hours Macroeconomics exam and then by my neatening up and cleaning Jacobhouse. After that, I tended to a couple of missed deliveries from Amazon (the post office did not know what to do with my packages because we do not have a mailbox for our new address yet). This was followed by my visiting Padre in his studio before collecting some greens from the garden* and heading up to Oldhouse for lunch.
(10:08 PM Update:) This afternoon I tended to quite a variety of activities including: revising for a lengthy amount of time, beginning the process of putting together my ebook for publication, helped out on the farm, checked the beef herd with Padre, set up a cellular internet connection at the studio, worked on / completed** the drain hookup in Madre’s workshop, and retrieved the box containing my new desk from the garage near uncle Wag’s house***. Now, I have just returned from dinner at Oldhouse and am presently finishing up today’s entry.
TIL: Today I learned that if the USPS experiences difficulty finding a delivery location they will hold the package and request a reschedule. This can all be done online with the USPS Redelivery Service. Had I known this, I would not have called them early this morning and spent 15 minutes contending with a robotic call center followed by a 20-30 minutes on hold. (10:08 PM Update:) Evidently Madre procured my packages earlier when she visited the Citra post office. Despite all of my efforts earlier having been for naught, this is a case where that is good thing!
Commentary: Once again it is another late night, and I am presently falling asleep at my desk as I write. So, I think I will just include today’s pictures before clambering into the Jacobhouse bed.
Final Note: I reckon tomorrow will be spent performing various writing-related shenanigans and putting together a new and much more compact desk.
*Brimage, the old contractor man who has become a frequent visitor to the farm and advisor to our many projects, stopped by and visited with Padre and I as we harvested.
**The pipe holes still need to be sealed with sprayfoam and the grey-water drainage pit outside still needs to be filled with bottles / integrated into the system. Tonight’s primary tasks consisted of hooking in the pipe drain and fastening the washer machine pipeworks in place with metal strapping.
**I utilized an ancient hand-truck (it has to be at least 30 or 40 years old) to cart it from that garage to Jacobhouse, and Padre helped me get it indoors.
Down sized dinner table, but food quality was top notch.
