Week of June 28, 2026 – More clouds (little rain), a visit from the Blisses, AM potluck, July 4th, and continuity.

Final Note: The evening of 7-3-2026 was truly unique. Padre and Madre joined me at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Ocala for a night of meeting new people, eating great food, dancing, and plenty of new experiences. I got a chance to dance with them, teach them some footwork, and they got to see what the studio was all about. Furthermore, I was able to share a delicious BBQ Wagyu brisket stew with many folks who seemed to appreciate it, and I was able to eat a certain Steven’s delicious berry-imbued cheesecake.

One other noteworthy occurrence came to light just as I was departing the potluck that evening, and it was the fact that my primary dance instructor for the past 6.5 months, Tatiana, will be transferring from the Ocala AM studio to another location / position in the studio after July 10th. She seemed simultaneously happy and sad at the circumstance, and I could understand why. It’s a great opportunity for her, but at the same time, I imagine it’s akin to leaving a family behind.

Then, on the evening of July 4th, I received this picture from Alexia in Puerto Vallarta:

A photo of the beautiful sunset on July 4, 2026, in Puerto Vallarta (from the Grand Park Royale). The photo was taken by Alexia. That sunset looked far finer than any fireworks display.

This picture along with the recent thoughts of endings and beginnings gave me a superb metaphor to work with. A sunset is the end of the day, but something incredible is happening simultaneously just on the other side of that brilliant ball of flame: A sunrise and a new day chock-full of potential. In this case, is the sun not a perfect embodiment of continuity–an incarnation of the concept that endings and beginnings are often one and the same?
