5/17/2026: Today began in the low 70s and warmed into the high 80s. Very sunny. Perfect for swimming.
On the morning of May 17, 2026, I gave a rubber mallet to the man who installs the posts around these chairs every morning. It made his job much easier. En la mañana del 17 de mayo de 2026, regalé un mazo de goma al hombre que instala los postes alrededor de estas sillas todas las mañanas. Eso le facilitó mucho su trabajo. 
A morning activity: My father and I played cards while drinking Pepsi Black and eating peanuts (and nuts). Una actividad matutina: Mi padre y yo jugamos a las cartas mientras bebíamos Pepsi Black y comíamos cacahuetes (y nueces).

The lunch starter consisted of roasted vegetables, a piece of chicken in mole sauce, and a spicy pepper stuffed with cheese and seafood. La entrada del almuerzo consistía en vegetales asados, un trozo de pollo en mole y un pimiento picante relleno de queso y mariscos. 
Dessert. Just like the day before yesterday, there was an excellent cheesecake. I ate a slice. El postre. Al igual que anteayer, había una tarta de queso excelente. Comí una rebanada.

Governor’s tacos filled with grilled octopus. They were the best seafood tacos I had this time in Puerto Vallarta. I need to note that we went to Happy Lobster for dinner. Tacos del gobernador rellenos de pulpo a la parrilla. Fueron los mejores tacos de marisco que probé esta vez en Puerto Vallarta. Necesito anotar que fuimos a la Langosta Feliz para cenar. 
A stuffed crab. It tasted excellent, and the waiter made a crude (but funny) joke about it. I asked him, “How do you say this in Spanish?” and he said, “Jaimen relleno”… And only after repeating it did I realize what happened. Un cangrejo relleno. Tenía sabor excelente y había una broma grosera (pero graciosa) sobre esto que hizo el camarero. Le pregunté “como se dice esto en español”, y el me dijo “jaimen relleno”…. Y solo después de repetirlo, me di cuenta que pasó. 
A cheesecake that I enjoyed after a card game with my brother and my parents. It was small, but it had a good texture and flavor. Una tarta de queso que disfruté después de un partido de cartas con mi hermano y mis padres. Era pequeña, pero tenía buena textura y sabor.
5/18/2026: Today began in the mid 70s and warmed into the high 80s. Quite sunny and warm. Smoky.

A drawing I made of the sunset on May 15, 2026. Instead of drawing the sun, I cut a hole for a finger—or, in the case of this photo, my shirt. It seems to have more life than a blank sheet of paper. This is part of the club sandwich we brought from the resort (Grand Park Royale) for the trip. It was delicious. It had ham, chicken, bacon, vegetables, and jalapeño. Esta es una parte del sándwich club que llevamos del resort (Grand Park Royale) para el viaje. Estaba delicioso. Tenía jamón, pollo, tocino, vegetales y jalapeño.

Dinner consisted of a Wagyu burger (#7226), garnished with three shrimp and accompanied by a green salad and a bowl of olives. Everything was delicious. 5/21/2026: Today began in the low 70s and warmed into the 90s. Sunny morning, a bit of rain in the afternoon.

This morning, I fed my sourdough starter and made bread dough. Esta mañana alimenté mi masa madre e hice masa para pan. 
I went to Sushi Bistro to get lunch. We started with a bowl of miso soup. Fui a Sushi Bistro para conseguir el almuerzo. Comenzamo con un tazón de sopa de miso. 
The main course consisted of a platter of excellent sushi. El plato principal consistía en una bandeja de Sushi excelente.

This is the mixture of lamb, Indian bison, and sweet potato that I prepared to fry for dinner. Esta es la mezcla de cordero, bisonte indio y batata que preparé para freír para la cena. 
The dinner consisted of a salad topped with the aforementioned fried mixture. All of this was drizzled with homemade barbecue sauce (and topped with cottage cheese and fresh rosemary). 5/22/2026: Today began in the low 70s and warmed into the low 90s. Mostly sunny.
On the morning of May 22, 2026, I baked four loaves of sourdough. En la mañana del 22 de mayo de 2026, horneé cuatro barras de masa madre.

A morning activity: I organized many boxes of meat. Una actividad matutina: organicé muchas cajas de carne. 
Lunch consisted of a fried mixture of duck eggs, Indian bison lamb, and sweet potato. All of this was served accompanied by a green salad. El almuerzo consistía en una mezcla frita de huevos de pato, cordero bisonte indio y batata. Todo esto se sirvió acompañado de una ensalada verde.

5/23/2026: Today began in the low 70s and warmed into the low 90s. Very small amounts of rain throughout. Mostly cloudy. Very rainy night.

Lunch consisted of beef sausages, sardines, and shrimp, all served on a bed of lettuce. El almuerzo consistía en salchichas de res, sardinas y camarones, todo servido sobre una cama de lechuga.

Final Note: Puerto Vallarta of May 2026. It seemed but a moment, but that moment will remain part of me for the rest of my life. I thank all who shared that moment with me.
