9/22/2024: Today began in the low 70s and warmed into the high 80s. Quite sunny.

Lunch consisted of Belgian blue round steak seared over high heat and topped with eggs, onions and peppers, all fried. This was accompanied by a green salad made by Padre. El almuerzo consistía en un bistec de ronda de azul belga dorado a fuego alto y cubierto con huevos, cebollas y pimientos, todo frito. Este estaba acompañado de una ensalada verde hecha por mi padre. 
This is a new frying pan that my mother gave me for my birthday. It will last for many years. Esta es una sartén nueva que mi madre me regaló para mi cumpleaños. Va a durar muchos años. 
Since I have a new pan, I’m going to take this five-year-old pan out of my kitchen. It did a good job. Como tengo una nueva sartén voy a sacar esta sartén que tiene cinco años de mi cocina. Hizo un buen trabajo.

My birthday feast: Sushi (nigiri) topped with thin slices of Belgian Blue beef and accompanied by a cabbage salad. We used good quality soy sauce for dipping. Lunch: A platter of sushi accompanied by a bowl of miso soup garnished with avocado and cabbage. El almuerzo: Una bandeja de sushi acompañada de un tazón de sopa de miso adornada con aguacate y repollo. 
I ran into a long traffic line on my way to class this afternoon. It wasn’t much fun. Me encontré una gran fila de tráfico mientras yo iba a la clase esta tarde. No fue muy divertido. 
This is the salad I had after coming back from class. The salad consisted of: romaine lettuce, green cabbage, pan-fried Belgian blue beef, avocado, and blue cheese. All of this was drizzled with homemade barbecue sauce and olive oil. Esta es la ensalada que comí después de regresar de la clase. For lunch, I made a fried mixture of eggs and leftover Belgian blue New York strip steak. I used the new pan and it worked great. Para el almuerzo, hice una mezcla frita de huevos y sobras del filete de Nueva York de azul belga. Utilicé la nueva sartén y funcionó muy bien. 
The plated lunch: The eggs were accompanied by a green salad made by Padre and dressed by my Madre. El almuerzo emplatado: Los huevos estaban acompañados de una ensalada verde hecha por mi padre y aliñada por mi madre. 
This is a Belgian Blue ribeye. It was quite marbled. Este es un chuletón de Azul Belga. Estaba bastante jaspeado.

Lunch consisted of Wagyu sausage stuffed with jalapeño and cheddar. This sausage was accompanied by a green salad topped with sliced hard-boiled eggs. El almuerzo consistía en salchicha de Wagyu rellena de jalapeño y cheddar. Esta salchicha estaba acompañada de una ensalada verde cubierta con huevos duros en rodajas. 
This is an old ear tag I found in the pasture. It’s from 1999 and the cow’s father was a bull named Romeo. Esta es una antigua etiqueta de oreja que encontré en el pasto. Es del año 1999 y el padre de la vaca era un toro llamado Romeo. 
Dinner: Korean-style Wagyu short ribs on a bed of rice. This meal was accompanied by a salad topped with blue cheese and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Final Note: Between a birthday, an episode of tropical weather, a shower frog, lots of calves, and plenty of Master Blend tasks, it was a full and venturesome week. Somehow, though, a little bit of progress was made on Guesthouse. I measured up spacing for the posts that will support the roof, and I’ll soon be putting in flags for post holes. In regard to writing, outline-work continues.
