This morning we attempted to assist a cow with a prolapsed uterus by tying it off and removing it. Unfortunately, there was too much blood inside the uterus, and she died later that morning. I must say that pushing the entire uterus back in wasn’t an option because the blood inside that organ had too little oxygen and would have caused fatal shock. Esta mañana intentamos de ayudar a una vaca con un útero prolapsado, atándolo y quitándolo. Desafortunadamente, había demasiado sangre dentro del útero y ella murió más adelante en la mañana. Debo decir que empujar el utero entero al dentro no fue una opción porque la sangre adentro esa órgano tenía demasiado poco oxígeno y habría causado choque fatal.

I used peanut sauce to dip a piece of Belgian blue roast beef. They went really well together because the sauce is rich and the meat isn’t very fatty. Utilicé la salsa de cacahuate para mojar un trozo de asado de azul belga. Combinaban muy bien porque la salsa es rica y la carne no tiene mucha grasa.

This morning I prepared a huge pot of beef and vegetable stew. Esta mañana preparé una enorme olla de guiso de carne de res y vegetales.

After that, Padre, Wag, and I walked a cow to the stable to help her give birth. Right now, his calf is alive, but only time will tell what will happen in the long term. Lunch on November 1, 2025, consisted of beef sausages, bacon, and salad. In addition, Mrs. Brimage gave us some tuna meatballs to try. They were delicious. Dinner consisted of leftover stew from the night before. This stew was topped with green cabbage and a piece of sourdough bread. There was also a green salad dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette. La cena consistía en sobras de guiso de la noche anterior. Este guiso estaba cubierto con repollo verde y un trozo de pan de masa madre. Además, había una ensalada verde rociada con una vinagreta balsámica.

Final Note: It is 12:05 PM on Sunday (11/2/2025), and I must say that it has been quite the contrast from last Sunday (10/26). Instead of helping tend to a cow with a prolapsed uterus, a consequently orphaned calf, and aiding in attaching that calf to a cow who had just recently lost her offspring, I spent my time writing while drinking coffee and preparing a delicious dinner for Padre and I: a New York strip and a ribeye from the MB Signature Series. Saying this, I do not want to demean the prior Sunday at all. Just because a day has travails does not make it any less valuable. It is travail contrasted with pleasure and everything between that grants life the diversity required for the construction of context and meaningful enjoyment.
A week of progress, tasty food and experiences I’d rather not have again… I wouldn’t change a thing.
