Week of October 15, 2023 – Fine fall weather, a bearded calf, and an Oops.

10/15/2023: Today began in the mid 60s and warmed into the mid 80s. Mostly sunny.

This is a caterpillar that I found below an oak tree. I think it is an imperial moth caterpillar. Esta es una oruga que encontré debajo de un roble. Creo que es una oruga de una polilla imperial.
Lunch consisted of some eggs scrambled with chiltepin and mozzarella. This mixture was accompanied by a salad made by Padre and dressed by Madre. El almuerzo consistía en unos huevos revueltos con chiltepin y mozzarella. Esta mezcla estaba acompañada de una ensalada hecha por mi padre y aliñada por mi madre.

Dinner: A pan-seared Belgian Blue sirloin accompanied by a salad of cucumber, green cabbage, red cabbage, tomato, and roasted pepper in a tangy vinaigrette. The texture and the flavor of the meat was fantastic. La cena: Un solomillo de azul belga a la sartén acompañado de una ensalada de pepino, repollo verde, repollo rojo, tomate y pimiento asado en una vinagreta ácida. This is the Belgian Blue London Broil that I cooked for dinner of 10/16/2023. Before the last portion of the cooking process, I painted the beef with a homemade barbecue sauce. 10/17/2023: Today began in the high 40s and warmed into the low 70s. Sunny.

Oops. I cut the cord to the circular saw while I was cutting wood for the outdoor shower’s step. Ups. Corté el cable de la sierra circular mientrás estaba cortando madera para la escalón de la ducha afuera.
Even though there was a little bit of difficulty with the circular saw, the step for the outdoor shower was a success. Aunque había un poco de dificultad con la sierra circular, el escalón para la ducha afuera fue un éxito.
For lunch, I ate a green salad with beef leftover from last night. It was a light, refreshing, and healthy lunch. Para almorzar, comí una ensalada verde con res sobrante de anoche. Fue un almuerzo ligero, refrescante y saludable.

Dinner of 10/18/2023: A Belgian Blue burger-steak accompanied by a bowl of sour cream for dipping, a green salad in a balsamic vinaigrette, and a glass of red wine. Lunch of 10/19/2023 consisted of a tuna filet and a salmon filet. These were accompanied by a green salad made by Padre and dressed by Madre. This little heifer calf was trying to hide behind one of the central barn’s metal pillars. It was not very effective. Esta ternerita estaba intentando a esconderse detrás de uno de los pilares metales del establo central. No fue muy efectivo.

Madre, Padre, and I went to Latinos y Más for lunch. There, I ordered the avocado salad with a breaded fish filet. We also enjoyed the chips and salsa. Mis padres y yo fuimos a Latinos y Más para almorzar. Allí, pedí la ensalada aguacate con un filete de pescado empanizado. También disfrutamos de los totopos y salsa.
For dinner, Padre and I enjoyed a pan-seared Wagyu chuck blade steak. This beef was accompanied by a salad of cucumber, green cabbage, red cabbage, tomato, olive, and roasted pepper in a tangy vinaigrette. Also, there was a bowl of homemade barbecue sauce for dipping. Para cenar, mi padre y yo disfrutamos de un bistec de hombro de Wagyu a la sartén. This is the pizza that I cooked for the dinner of 10/21/2023. It had mushrooms, black olives, purple onion, and green pepper on top of the cheese. Under the cheese, there was a pound of Belgian Blue ground beef, a little bit of homemade tomato sauce, and a sourdough crust. Esta es la pizza que yo cociné para la cena del 21/10/2023. Tenía hongos, aceitunas negras, cebolla morada y pimiento verde encima del queso. Debajo del queso, había una libra de res molida de azul belga, un poco de salsa de tomate casera y una corteza de masa madre.
The plated dinner: A piece of pizza accompanied by a salad drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Also, there was a bowl of homemade tomato sauce for dipping.
