Guesthouse Update: While we have been clearing the tree-line, I’ve been utilizing any lulls to work on papers for acquiring electricity for this project. Among these are the site plan & construction plan. The next five steps for the project will likely proceed as follows:

  1. Move container into position just past where I’ll be digging holes – This requires taking down a small section of fence & usage of the pay loader(s). The container will be placed at a slant atop the first two pillars.
  2. Erect fence – There will be a new fence placed alongside the Guesthouse lot, but that may occur at a later time. This step primarily refers to putting up a fence around the Guesthouse lot once again so we can proceed to step three.
  3. Dig holes #3 & #4 – These will be dug near the end of the container. A water-filled hose along with some stakes will be utilized to ensure that I dig the holes to the appropriate depth so the container will be level from front to back.
  4. Place pillars #3 & #4 and fill in the holes.
  5. Drag container into position atop pillars #3 & #4. Use shims if necessary to level the container.

Final Note: As for a note in regard to this week, I would say some of my favorite happenings are listed in this post’s title. The tree-line’s being cleared is another step forward in Guesthouse’s progress, and I like being able to see Grandma Cook’s restored house from my own abode. The freezer room is looking like a full-fledged country (gourmet) store. Y en el caso de las tajadas, estoy agradecido a mi comadre, Lunita, para enseñarme como hacerlas porque ellas estaban muy deliciosas y como un paso momentáneo a su país y cultura desde mi propia casa.
