Lunch: An oven-baked salmon filet seasoned with salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, sumac, and lime. This was accompanied by a salad made by Padre and dressed by Madre. El almuerzo: Un filete de salmón horneado sazonado con sal, pimienta negra, pimienta de cayena, zumaque y limón. Este estaba acompañado de una ensalada hecha por mi padre y aliñada por mi madre.

This afternoon, Padre and I repaired the bags that are used to advertise the Moo-Magic stand. Now they look much better. Esta tarde, mi padre y yo arreglamos las bolsas que se usan para anunciar el puesto de Moo-Magic. Ahora se ven mucho mejor. 
For dinner, we enjoyed some Belgian Blue burger-steaks encrusted with salt, coffee, and lime. These steaks were accompanied by a colorful salad made by padre. Para la cena, disfrutamos de unos bistecs de res molida de azul belga incrustados con sal, grano de café triturado, y limón. Estos bistecs estaban acompañados de una ensalada colorida hecha por mi padre.

Lunch of 6/10/2024: A tray of sushi and a bowl of miso soup. It was a delicious feast. El almuerzo del 10/6/2024: Una bandeja de sushi y un tazón de sopa de miso. Fue una fiesta deliciosa. 
A small sliced red apple sprinkled with cinnamon and accompanied by a dollop of Greek yogurt. Una pequeña manzana roja en rodajas espolvoreada con canela y acompañada de una cucharada de yogur griego. 
These are some lambchops seasoned with salt, black pepper, Sicilian spices, olive oil, and bourbon-infused balsamic vinegar. Estas son unas chuletas de cordero sazonadas con sal, pimienta negra, especias sicilianas, aceite de oliva y vinagre balsámico infusionado con bourbon.

Dinner consisted of the aforementioned lambchops, reverse-seared and accompanied by a colorful salad made by Padre. La cena consistía en las chuletas de cordero ya mencionadas salteadas al revés y acompañadas de una ensalada colorida hecha por mi padre.

Lunch consisted of roasted chicken (marinated in mango and siracha infused vinegar) accompanied by a green salad made by Padre and dressed by Madre. La cena consistía en una ensalada de lechuga romana, repollo verde, res molida de azul belga al sartén, aguacate en rodajas, salsa barbacoa casera y pimientos bananas.

This evening Padre and I made a final inspection of the fields before tomorrow’s trip. The weather was quite comfortable and the cows were grazing peacefully. The morning of 6/12/2024: We enjoyed breakfast in Hodelpa Gran Almirante’s restaurant. I ate an omelet filled with cheese, pepper, and onion. This was accompanied by a piece of yucca bread and three pieces of watermelon. La mañana del 12/6/2024: Disfrutamos de un desayuno en el restaurante del Hodelpa Gran Almirante. Comí una tortilla de huevo rellena con queso, pimiento y cebolla. Esta estaba acompañada de un trozito de pan de yucca y tres trozos de sandía.

This is the Dominican Chicharron Mofongo that they served us as our first course at lunch in Hodelpa Gran Almirante. The mashed plantain was very agreeable for our empty bellies. Este es el chicharrón mofongo dominicano que nos sirvieron como primer plato en el almuerzo en Hodelpa Gran Almirante. El plátano majado estaba muy agradable para nuestros panzas vacias. 
Lunch’s main course consisted of goat stew accompanied by a Caesar salad. All of the food was quite delicious. After we ate lunch, we took a delightful nap. El plato principal del almuerzo consistía en caldo de chivo acompañado de una ensalada César. Toda la comida estaba bastante rica. Después de que almorzamos, tomamos una siesta muy sabrosa.

Tonight, Padre, Madre, my brother, and I ate at La Locanda Restaurante (an Italian kitchen). I had the penne noodles topped with pomodoro sauce and accompanied by a green salad (dressed with lemon). Esta noche, mi padre, mi madre, mi hermano y yo comimos en La Locanda Restaurante (una cucina Italiana). Yo comí los fideos penne cubiertos con salsa pomodoro y acompañados de una ensalada verde (aliñada con limón amarillo).
6/13/2024: Today began in the low 80s and warmed into the low 90s. Quite breezy at the Villa of the Mermaids (La Villa de Las Sirenas).
The breakfast of 6/13/2024 in Hodelpa Gran Almirante. The food at the front was a piece of banana bread. It had a very moist and soft texture. Delicious. El desayuno del 13/6/2024 en Hodelpa Gran Almirante. La comida en el frente fue un trozito de pan de banana. Tenía una textura muy humeda y muy sauve. Deliciosa.

On arriving at the House of the Mermaids (the name of the house where we are staying), Tanya and Janie served us a lunch of homemade fried chicken, green salad, and fruit). It was a fresh and delicious feast. Al llegar a la Villa de las Sirenas (el nombre de la casa donde nos quedarnos), Tanya y Janie nos sirvieron un almuerzo de pollo frito casero, ensalada verde y fruta. Fue una fiesta muy fresca y rica.

At night, we went to a restaurant called “Los Charros”. The first dish consisted of some impressive nachos called “Nachos Machos”. They were topped with chicken, beans, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce. En la noche, fuimos a un resaurante llamado “Los Charros”. El primero plato consistía de unos nachos impresionantes llamados “Nachos Machos”. Estaban cubiertas con pollo, frijoles, queso, crema ácida y lechuga. 
The main course for me was the chicken and shrimp fajitas. This meat was accompanied by roasted pepper and onions and by some fresh tortillas made in-house. El plato principal para mí fue las fajitas de pollo y camarones. Esta carne estaba acompañada de pimiento y cebolla asados y unas tortillas frescas hechas en casa.

6/14/2024: Today began in the low 80s and warmed into the low 90s. Breezy and sunny.

The main course consisted of round steak accompanied by fries, roasted vegetables and salad. The pepper sauce that covered the steak was fantastic. El plato principal consistía en bistec de ronda acompañado de papas fritas, vegetales asados y ensalada. Las salsa de pimienta que cubría el bistec era fantástica. 
The VanWagner family playing a card game called “Coup.” It’s a pretty fun game. La familia VanWagner jugando un juego de cartas llamado “Coup”. Es un juego bastante divertido. 
Lunch consisted of a stew of beef, peppers and onions. This was accompanied by yellow rice and a fresh salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The seasoning of this dish was excellent. El almuerzo consistía en un guiso de carne de res, pimientos y cebolla. Este estaba acompañado de arroz amarillo y una ensalada fresca de lechuga, tomate y pepino. La sazón de este plato era excelente.

For dinner, we went to Chris & Maddy’s restaurant. There, the first course consisted of garlic bread topped with cheese. In addition, the owner (Chris) allowed us to try the pineapple and habanero hot sauce (prepared in-house). Para la cena, fuimos al restaurante de Chris & Maddy. Allí, el primero plato consistía en pan de ajo cubierto con queso. Además, el dueño (Chris) nos permitió a probar la salsa picante de piña y habanero (preparada en casa).
6/15/2024: Today began in the high 70s and warmed into the low 90s. Slightly less breeze today.

Lunch: Roast chicken accompanied by red bean soup, rice, and salad. All the food was very fresh and quite delicious. El almuerzo: Pollo asado acompañado de una sopa de frijoles rojos, arroz, y ensalada. Toda la comida estaba muy fresca y bastante deliciosa.

For dinner, we ate at a restaurant called “Skylight Restaurant”. The view was spectacular. Para cenar, comimos en un restaurante llamado “Skylight Restaurant”. La vista era espectacular. 
The starter my father and I shared consisted of fried calamari drizzled with a little lemon. El entrante que compartimos mi padre y yo consistía en calamares fritos rociados con un poco de limón. 
My main dish consisted of shrimp mofongo topped with cheese and garnished with a little bit of dried parsley and plantain chips. El plato fuerte para mí consistía en el mofongo de camarones cubierto con queso y adornado con un poco de perejíl seco y chips de plátano.
