Final Note: It is Sunday morning, 6/30/2024. I am presently listening to music while finishing up this entry. It has been a busy seven days; we lifted the container onto its pillars, there were many happenings in the Master Blend freezer room, the cattle have been a tad ill, and I’ve been recovering from my own bout of ailment. Still, it was a good week.

Over the next seven days, I plan on working out a new schedule. I was getting 6.5 hours of sleep & a 30-minute midday siesta before vacation. Now I am getting 7.5 hours of sleep & a 30-minute midday siesta. I have learned that getting an extra hour of sleep has increased my energy levels significantly, but now I must find a way to account for the missing hour.

Draft of a discussion between Tates and Lani in regard to wishes (Final chapter of Book 2 – To Lands Beyond):

“… but all the wiser for the whole mess,” the old man snorted and gave his frowning visage a shake, “But that brings us back to the fat Fahren’s question, dunnit, girl? The wisest wish.

“Well, I say there’s no such thing. A wish is a waste uh breath to say somethin’ we already know: ‘it could be better’. It’s a measure uh our life ‘gainst some fantasy, and in so doin’, makes that life look even more a mire. N’ you know what else? It dis-counts all that came before the fact – the good times, the bad, anythin’ gained, anyone lost. Wishes spit on all uh it. So, even if Grizwak was to appear right here, offerin’a bring back my Ell or my children or my Tillin’ Lands or my youth, you know what I’d tell ‘im?”

Lani had a feeling she knew very well what Tates would say. Those suspicions were confirmed one moment later as the old man growled;

“I’d tell that mucker to go shove it up his ass.”
