Lunch of 7/7/2024: A salad (from bottom to top) of romaine lettuce, red cabbage, pan-seared Wagyu sirloin tip steak, banana peppers, avocado, olive oil, and homemade barbecue sauce. El almuerzo del 7/7/2024: Una ensalada (de abajo hacía arriba) de lechuga romana, repollo rojo, filete de ronda de Wagyu al sartén, pimientos amarillos enfrascados, aguacate, aceite de oliva y salsa barbacoa casera.

A little bit afterward, the clouds liberated their water over the farm. Un poco después las nubes liberaron su agua sobre el rancho. 
Dinner consisted of two types of pizza. Padre’s pizza was topped with beef (leftover Wagyu short rib), red onion, and green pepper. My pizza was topped with mushrooms, butter, fresh garlic, and a little bit of parmesan cheese. These pieces of pizza were accompanied by a colorful salad. La cena consistía en dos tipos de pizza. La pizza de mi padre estaba cubierta con res (sobras de costillita de Wagyu), cebolla roja y pimiento verde. A morning activity of 7/8/2024: Madre and I went to the county office to sign papers in order to obtain electricity for the container project. Today’s lunch consisted of a tray of sushi accompanied by a bowl of miso soup garnished with red cabbage, avocado, spinach, and purslane flowers. El almuerzo de hoy consistía en una bandeja de sushi acompañada de un tazón de sopa de miso adornada con repollo rojo, aguacate, espinaca y flores de verdolaga.

The steak was encrusted with walnuts, chiltepin, black pepper and salt, and it was accompanied by a salad made by Padre. Lunch of 7/9/2024: A fried mixture of eggs and leftover Mississippi pot roast. This was accompanied by a salad made by Padre and dressed by Madre. Dinner: Wagyu rump roast encrusted with salt and coffee and reverse-seared. This was accompanied by a cabbage, carrot, and banana pepper salad. The afternoon of 7/10/2024: We harvested some wild grapes. The green ones were sour, but the purples were sweet and juicy. La tarde del 10/7/2024: Cosechamos unas uvas salvajes. Las verdes estaban agrías, pero las moradas estaban dulces y jugosas.

Dinner consisted of a salad of: romaine lettuce, thinly sliced carrot, green pepper harvested from the garden, and pan-seared Wagyu ground beef. The salad was dressed with homemade barbecue sauce, but it did not need olive oil due to the Wagyu fat. La cena consistía en una ensalada de: lechuga romana, zanahoria en rodajas delgadas, pimiento verde cosechado del jardín y res molida de Wagyu al sartén. La ensalada estaba aderezada con un poco de salsa barbacoa casera, pero no necesitaba aceite de oliva por la grasa del Wagyu.

Lunch: A tuna fillet seared over high heat in a pan. This was accompanied by a green salad made by my father and dressed by my mother. El almuerzo: Un filete de atún dorado a fuego vivo en una sartén. Este estaba acompañada de una ensalada verde hecha por mi padre y aliñada por mi madre. 
We found a great white egret in the center field during our ride through the pastures. Encontramos una garceta grande blanca en el campo central durante nuestra vuelta por los pastos. 
A Belgian blue shoulder steak encrusted with salt and coffee and pan-seared. This was accompanied by a green salad made by Padre and a baked potato topped with sour cream. Un bistec de hombro de azul belga incrustado con sal y café y dorado a fuego vivo en una sartén. Este estaba acompañado de una ensalada verde heceha por mi padre y una papa asada cubierta con crema ácida.

7/13/2024: Today began in the mid 70s and warmed into the low 90s. Quite warm, but afternoon cloud cover kept things more comfortable than yesterday.

This morning, I served Café Santo Domingo (with milk from cow #880) and puff pastry cookies in the Master Blend beef shop. Al lof it was fresh and delicious. Esta mañana serví Café Santo Domingo (con leche de vaca #880) y galletas de hojaldre en la carnecería de Master Blend. Toda estaba fresca y rica. 
Lunch consisted of a sautéed mixture of dried Mexican beef (gifted to me by Victor’s wife, Claudia), eggs, garlic, chiltepin, fresh milk, and mozzarella. This flavorful mixture was accompanied by a salad made by Padre and dressed by Madre. El almuerzo consistía en una mezcla salteada de carne seca mexicana (que me regaló la esposa de Victor, Claudia), huevos, ajo, chiltepín, leche fresca y mozzarella. Esta sabrosa mezcla estaba acompañada de una ensalada hecha por mi padre y aliñada por mi madre.

Final Note: The other day I realized that I wanted to draw something in color, so I procured some colored pencils. I soon discovered that my colored pencils had a texture akin to crayons and that my art skills are not the fanciest. However, I have also realized that drawing improves the images that reside in my mind. Below is my first exercise: Playa de Rodas (Rhodes Beach) of Galicia in Spain. The water there is known for being quite chilly, but it nevertheless looks very inviting. I’d hop in right now.
Again the week offered many experiences, little doubt that the heat and humidity could be taken down a notch or two, but we made it through nonetheless. Certainly think that drawing helps the drawer to think differently. Thanks for sharing.
