[Above: The beginning of my plan for trimming the inside of the southern freezer room window. The slanted boards are going to work well, but I will still trim some of the back-side away so it looks better from the outside (currently it is jutting a little bit into the ‘pane area’).]
Active Summary: Today began with calisthenics, writing time, and a beef pasture check with Padre. This was ensued by more time writing – about an hour’s worth – and then by my returning outdoors to help Padre IV one sick calf* and treat another with epinephrine and flunixin meglumine** . After that, I filled / moved 12 bags of Moo-Magic down to the compost stand with Padre’s aid. To finish off the morning, I ventured to the studio for a visit and then ate lunch of Aneta’s Bistro leftovers.
(7:43 Update:) After lunch, I spent a bit of time creative writing and then researching/revising my seltzer-tap project [image below]. This was ensued by a whole bunch of cattle-related shenanigans, including: feeding / catching / helping Padre put embryos in a couple cows, shuffling cattle into various pens, aiding in the transport of a calf from the field to a pen near the barn (for close monitoring), IV’ing a calf that we thought was getting better, pitch-forking feed, and performing a beef-pasture check.
After all this, I spent 45 minutes working on the interior portion of the freezer room’s window – measuring / cutting PVC trim board to cover the exposed rough opening – and I harvested some kale from the garden for dinner. Now I am compiling this entry before heading over to the studio to feast.
Final Note: If there is not too many cattle-related shenanigans over the next few days, I plan on trimming around the interior side of the southern window in the Freezer room AND creating cages for the now-growing tomato plants.
*The calf that was half-dead yesterday evening and that actually lived through the night. As of 8:00 PM today, it is still alive and actually quite well.
**Fancy name for banamine, a symptom suppressor.
Quite a Sunday… good food, leftovers can be just as good as the original portions I think
