(Above: The freekend has nearly arrived.)
Active Summary: Today I woke up, performed calisthenics, wrote for 40 minutes, and then ventured outside to go check the beef pasture with Padre. This was ensued by a couple cattle shenanigans* and then by some time in the farm’s tool room. In that room, I placed all available hammers into the metal tool box, removed the decrepit tool-holding-pouches from the wall, and tapped in a number of nails onto which I sorted the wrenches as I separated them from the sockets. After that, I ventured up to Oldhouse where I put my pre-prepared** lasagna into the oven on 375 F. To finish up the morning, I have just finished the remainder of my creative writing time and I’m writing this blog-post.
TIL: Yesterday, after observing that a few of the peas growing in the garden were yellowing slightly, I did a little bit of research to discover why. It turns out that peas exhibit such color changes only when the soil is too dry or too moist. So, seeing as the garden is quite wet at the moment due to a combination of watering and rain, I suppose the latter is to blame. Next watering, I will move the sprinkler toward the westernmost row so as to exclude those vines.
Commentary: I am on the cusp of the greatly-anticipated freekend. Jacobhouse is clean, the garden is neat, and many of the weekend activities on my checklist have been completed. Now, after submitting this blog entry, I reckon I will spend as little time on the computer as possible until 3PM this afternoon!
Final Note: Freekend activities shall be occurring over the next few days and will include: lots of gaming, eating, and a bit of farm activity in the afternoons to help out and to get in a healthy allotment of physical activity.
*Bovine shenanigans lasted only 10 minutes or so, but during this time a couple wayward bovines splattered me with mud and manure when moving them from one lot into another.
**Yes, this is a word. It means ‘prepared in advance’.
