Active Summary: Today began with writing, a beef pasture check with Padre, and chipping ice off the insides of one of the Master Blend freezers. On my way back to Jacobhouse, I checked on all the tomato plants (no hornworms found), and on returning indoors, I tended to a few chores, partook of the daily calithenic exercises, and wrote for an hour and a half. At that point, I was tired of peering at the computer screen, so I returned outside where I worked a little bit more on the Master Blend freezers before taking a trip into Ocala to pick up a delicious lunch from Aneta’s Bistro.
(5:11 PM Update:) This afternoon began with a brief rest, writing, and reading. Before 3:00 PM there were a few Master Blend customers who arrived despite the sign being set to ‘closed’, and I had to turn them away due to there being hardly any beef in the freezers (they said they look forward to coming back next week!). After that, I helped Padre with quite a few farm shenanigans – the usual catching / feeding / calf checking & treatment – interspersed with a couple trips to the seltzerator on account of the afternoon’s excessive heat. We were able to complete everything that needed doing just before rain arrived at 5:00 PM. Now I am back in Jacobhouse, taking a brief break* before heading back out to check the beef pastures once again at 6:00 PM.
Final Note: I’m trying my hand at making another pastry this evening. I’ll post a video of how it went below (pictures of the inside tomorrow evening):
*Consisting of writing and watching a couple cooking videos.
Tasted like a great pastry too
