Shank-steak lunch ( & egrets in the garden).

7/9/2020

(Above: Beef-shank steak #1 – Jacob lunch.)

Summary: Today began with calisthenics, a beef pasture check with Padre, and brief garden inspections. On finding both plots in a passable (albeit weedy) state, I returned to Jacobhouse where I wrote for a couple hours. This was ensued by my visiting the Studio for 50 minutes and then pan-searing a couple beef shank steaks to go with the garden salad and croutons that Padre put together for lunch.

Here is a video I captured shortly after lunch:

Apologies for the low quality. At least the behavior can be observed.

(5:07 PM Update:) Afternoon activities began with my slicing/cubing another delicious watermelon, a brief rest, and about 30 minutes of writing. This was followed by cattle-related tasks, including: catching / vaccinating ten pregnant bovines, doing the same for three calves, and inspecting the beef pasture.  Before heading back to Jacobhouse for a cool-down break, I drank some seltzer in the Master Blend freezer room while unboxing some surveillance cameras that had just come in the mail. Now, as I write this, I’m thinking of ways in which I could rig one of the cameras so I can somehow receive signal in the Jacobhouse.

Day’s end in the beef pasture.
Note that it was still warm enough outside to warrant bovines huddling in the shade.

Final Note: The only task remaining to this day is the final beef pasture check with Padre (8:04 PM Update: Entailed over an hour of driving around and performing electric testing/repair). Other than that, I will likely eat a dinner of watermelon (and possibly coconut bread if I don’t decide to save the dough for pizza tomorrow) and then take some leisure time.
