(Above: About a tomato weight’s worth of hornworms plucked from the plants in garden #1 this morning.)
Summary: Today began with writing, a beef pasture check, and calisthenic exercises. This was followed by my checking on both gardens and then my returning to Jacobhouse where I wrote for a few hours before visiting Padre in the studio. After this, I tended to some kitchen tasks, including: cutting up a cantaloupe & watermelon, salting beef for tonight’s dinner, and slicing / oiling / salting / baking four sweet potatoes for lunch.

(6:27 PM Update:) Afternoon activities began with rest and writing which were ensued by cattle-related activities. These consisted of the usual tasks: bovine feeding, health checks, calf/cow catching, helping with an embryo transfer, and IV’ing an ailing Wagyu calf out in the field. To conclude farm tasks, I checked the beef pasture with Padre one more time.

Final Note: As I prepared today’s entry, I cooked some polenta (easy enough, but requires stirring every five minutes), and in about 40 minutes, I am going to begin cooking the Master Blend rib-cap. Together, I believe the polenta and the rib cap are going to make a tremendous meal.
Nothing gross about the meal… Tremendous
