3/29/19:
Building Summary: Today I started off by sturdying the frame I made yesterday. I did this by putting six 1 ½” self-tapping screws through the panel box onto the inner side of the vertical 2x6s and then by drilling long self-tappers (3″) through the west 2×6 into the stainless steel wall. After that task was complete, I installed the air-conditioner outlet and then set about stringing various Jacobhouse wires through the plastic ‘cinches’ at the base of the panel box. This was followed by my final activity for the morning: hammering in wire staples to neaten up loose sections of cable.
Commentary: I had an excellent morning down at Jacobhouse. I completed my primary objectives and even got to work on some additional activities (putting away tools and using wire-staples to neaten the in-wall wiring). Then, to make the day even better, my family and I went into Ocala for lunch at a restaurant named Ipanema. Going out to eat is always a highlight in my opinion, but today’s event was especially delectable.
Ipanema is a Brazilian Steakhouse (or a Churrascaria) that has been around for quite some time, and it is still going strong. This latter fact was exhibited in full today. The walk-up bar was filled with fresh vegetation, dressings made in-house, and various exotic delicacies (prosciutto, smoked salmon, ceviche, tomato-basil soup, many different types of cheese, etc.). And that was only the appetizer.
For the main course, there was meat galore served and sliced by affable gauchos. The selection was Brazilian smoked sausage, bottom sirloin, garlic sirloin, parmesan encrusted pork, parmesan encrusted chicken, and in the case of dessert, cinnamon/sugar coated fire-roasted pineapple. For me, it was all about the garlic sirloin today. Sirloins in general are usually tough cuts of meat, but the portions served today were tender and possessed juicy ‘caps’ of fat on the upper side. To add to this, they were served medium-rare with a slight sprinkling of salt, garlic, and parmesan, making them ever the more succulent and flavorful. Without a doubt, those were the best pieces of garlic sirloin I’ve ever had.
Afternoon Update: The avian visitors were back. This time I have video proof.
Final Note: Tomorrow, I will be bringing the newly acquired roll of Romex wire down to Jacobhouse. This will be followed by my running a wire from the panel box to the south counter’s outlet. After the line is in place, I’ll likely install the above-counter receptacle, run the freshly installed Romex wire through some conduit to reach that box, and then fasten everything in place.
