Active Summary: This morning began with the daily regimen of calisthenics, writing, and checking the beef pasture with Padre. These activities were ensued by another hour of writing, cleaning Jacobhouse, tending to Master Blend correspondence, and collecting greens (kale, collards, and Malabar Spinach) for a large lunch salad. That midday meal followed soon after and consisted of the aforementioned salad, some grilled tomatoes, and two grilled salt-and-pepper shank-steaks.
(7:37 PM Update:) Afternoon activities began with a brief rest and putting together some pastry dough*. I next journeyed outside where I helped with a number of cattle-related tasks, including: coaxing water through the bovine sewage pipe, capturing / vaccinating nine calves with Padre and Wag, checking the beef pasture and barn for ailing creatures, IV’ing a calf with extreme bloat, and checking the beef herd one last time before heading back to Jacobhouse for the evening. Now, I am putting together today’s entry while waiting for a Monte-Cristo Pastry** to bake in the oven.
Final Note: Jacobhouse currently bears the scent of toasting pastry, top-notch butter, and frying prosciutto. It is going to be a long 35 minutes until dinner (there will be pictures in tomorrow’s entry).
*This is the first time I have used non-generic butter in a pastry.
