Garden activities (and watermelon #3.)

Active Summary: This morning began with calisthenics, writing, and a ride around the beef pasture. Afterward, I returned to Jacobhouse where I engaged in cooking related activities, including: cooking some barley-based granola chunks and cooking up some barley for lunch*. I next ventured to the Harbison Farm Market where I procured the weekly produce. On returning home, I prepared food for the noontime meal: a barley-based jambalaya containing beef sausage, bacon, cabbage, onion, and garlic. As it cooked in the oven, I visited Padre at the studio. Lunch followed.

(5:11 PM Update:) Afternoon activities thus far have included writing for about an hour, cutting up half of an enormous watermelon, cattle related activities (feeding / capture bovines for treatment, checking the herd for ailments, and pitch forking feed), and filling 12 Moo Magic bags with Padre’s aid. This was ensued by our enjoying the now fully-charged Seltzerator**. Now I am taking a brief rest in Jacobhouse before going on the evening beef pasture checkup with Padre.

Final (8:47 PM) Update: After the beef pasture check, I worked on Garden #2 for about 30 minutes. This was ensued by my cooking dinner which consisted consisted of a French omelet filled with beef sausage, a little bit of left-over salad, and a whole bunch of watermelon. It was all delicious, but I may have feasted a tad too heavily on the watermelon, for now there is a watermelon shaped protrusion under my shirt.

*1.5 cups of barley boiled-then-simmered in 4 cups of chicken stock for 50 minutes.

**30 PSI really is the perfect setting for good bubbly seltzer water.
