First watermelon of 2020.

(Above: First melon of 2020.)

Active Summary: After waking, I performed the morningly regimen of calisthenics, checking the beef pasture with Padre, and washing/hanging my clothes out to dry. This was ensued by an hour’s worth of writing, working on a Macroecnomics discussion assignment, and then venturing back outdoors where I helped Madre hook up DSL into her workshop (drilled hole, inserted Cat-5 cable in, wired DSL jack, and then wired Cat-5 cable to DSL hookup at pole). After finding the connection to be running, I returned to Jacobhouse and prepared to depart on a short excursion to town where Padre & Madre signed papers for Oldhouse and where I procured 6 vessels of cabbage salad from Aneta’s. On returning home, I cut up potatoes for baking to have with our cabbage salad.

(7:56 PM Update:) This afternoon’s activities began with my preparing/applying a spice rub to tomorrow’s short ribs. After that, I wrote for a while, rested, and then ventured outside where I proceeded to take down the morning’s clothes (still novel) and tend the garden for a brief time before engaging in farm activities. Farm activities today solely entailed building a new gate to replace a decrepit one, filling Moo-Magic bags with Padre, performing a beef pasture check, and running a mischievous Belgian Blue calf back into its pen. On returning to Jacobhouse, I cut up watermelon and prepared mushroom-mozzarella omelets for dinner.

Final Note: Tomorrow I actually do plan to sow the Malabar Summer Spinach in its intended row. Also, an appliance technician is going to stop by Jacobhouse and work on the Washer/Dryer. As for additional activities,I would like to order a couple items for the farm / Master Blend freezer room and work on my Macroeconomic class’s final discussion post.
