3/13/19:
Building Summary: We’re still waiting on more information from Classic Kitchens, so today I went straight down to Jacobhouse and worked on a couple different projects. The first was digging the waterline ditch under the container from the north – the side with the utility hole – to the south. The second was putting down more floor-boards in the bedroom and office area (consisted of rearranging the various construction paraphernalia, drilling insets into the already prepared boards, and then fastening those planks down to the floor).
Commentary: This morning I was actually able to see some physical progress at Jacobhouse. The ditch was a bit of a shenanigan*, but it was easy overall, and I was also able to install five floor-boards besides.
As for a highlight, I’d say the primary one for this morning occurred after I had cleared away all the construction supplies from the office area and moved them into the ‘bedroom’. It was the first time I was actually able to perceive the size of my future office since the closet-wall has been in place, and I must say, I was quite pleased. I know that it will seem a bit smaller with a computer desk and a Clavinova (electric piano) in there, but even still; between the room’s 8 ½’ height and the large sliding glass doors that will be inset into the end, I believe the office will be as good as if not better than anything I have had before.
Final Note: Depending on what tomorrow morning brings (farm-wise), I may be able to start putting in the water line that will extend from Jacobhouse to the well that is about 100′ away. If there is any downtime, I will continue applying more boards to office area’s floor. Also, the cabinet escapade shall continue.
About this video: This is the same bovine that caused the mischief about two or three weeks back. Today, she wanted fresh feed but did not wish to wait for it, so she broke out of her paddock** and gorged herself on my new neighbors’ fodder. I don’t call her Big (Fat) Blue for nothing.
Additional Note: The FedEx Small Business Grant is still in progress. It’d be excellent if you could vote for Master Blend Cattle Company here. Thanks!
*I almost felt like some form of miner when I was beneath the container excavating the ditch’s central portion.
** She snapped off a couple posts but fortunately her muscular Belgian Blue buttocks allowed her to sail over in such a way that the fence was bent down only by a foot or two.
