(Above: An especially round melon; it took some effort getting it to stay still for this picture.)
Active Summary: This morning began with the daily regimen of calisthenics, writing, and checking the beef pasture with Padre. These activities were ensued by almost another hour of writing. Near the end of the latter activity, I received a call from / met a Master Blend customer at the freezer room. It was on my way back to Jacobhouse that Padre showed me three seedless watermelons a friend dropped off, so I took them home and cut them up before writing a tad longer. To conclude morning activities, I visited Padre at the studio for about 50 minutes and then cooked up some victuals for lunch: grilled burger-steaks, zucchini, and squash.
(6:30 PM Update:) This afternoon began with about forty-five minute’s worth of leisure time followed by a brief rest. Afterward, I ventured outdoors where I helped Padre with various farm-related tasks, including: the unclogging of a certain notorious beef sewage pipe, feeding the bovines, cattle-work*, pitch-forking feed, and performing a couple beef pasture inspections. Aside from a brief seltzer-break in the middle of all these activities, it was a pretty active albeit shorter afternoon than usual.
On returning to Jacobhouse, I decided to make something that shall accompany my light dinner of watermelon and cherry ice-cream this evening. This ‘something’ was/is chocolate-covered walnuts. To make them, I simply toasted walnuts and a little bit of rolled oats in a frying pan, melted some chocolate, and mixed both together in a bowl whilst adding about 2 tbsp. of coconut oil, a pinch of salt (to taste**), and a light sprinkling of cayenne powder. Now I am finishing up today’s entry before engaging in some more leisure time.
Final Note: Leisure time and a dinner of watermelon and cherry ice cream topped with chocolate walnuts… that is all there is left to the day, and I must say, that sounds downright divine.

** I have learned from prior experience that desserts tend to require more taste tests than main course dishes such as pan-seared beef, stews, meat pies, and etc. Especially where salt is concerned. There are few things more disappointing than over-salting an otherwise delicious dessert.
Tasty treats indeed
