Beginning the bucketing.

2/20/2020

Active Summary: After performing this day’s early morning regimen, I set myself to work on a variety of tasks including: beginning the process of transferring my phone and internet to one service, cleaning Jacobhouse*, writing an email to a Master Blend client, writing and email to another potential Master Blend outlet, and then venturing outdoors to begin cleaning old hydraulic oil buckets into which I will be planting my raised-bed garden. At about noontime, my family and I (with the addition of Grandma), ventured off to Aneta’s Bistro for lunch.

(7:40 PM Update:) This afternoon’s cattle activities consisted of feeding bovines, vaccinating calves, and performing a herd health check. Afterward, I began the bread-making process before bringing compost bags down to the Moo-Magic stand and cleaning up a number of buckets with a polypropylene bag (more in TIL). Now I’m tending to various office shenanigans while waiting for the dough to rise.

Captured this video on my way out this afternoon.

TIL: Today I learned another use for polypropylene bags: cleaning up old hydraulic oil buckets. Before this discovery I was using a combination of sand-scrubbing and water/soap. When utilizing a polypropylene bag, however, it was akin to a combining the abrasiveness of dry sand with the properties of dish soap.

Commentary: Between the un-air-conditioned ride to Aneta’s today and the large number of people eating lunch there, it was a fairly unorthodox journey. However, Robert (Aneta’s Husband) did a fine job of waiting on all the tables, and the food was all delicious and fresh. Once again, their cabbage salad was a masterpiece. I hope to learn the recipe one day. As for additional highlights, I’m really looking forward to making a cherry coconut mousse later, and I’ll post a picture of the result below.

Final Note: Tomorrow, I intend to clean more buckets, help Madre with her workshop in the morning, and tend to a certain Master Blend activity that I will describe in the next entry if it comes to pass.

*Tomorrow may be somewhat busy, so I wanted to make sure that the weekly cleaning was completed.
