A rainy bespattered window.

A rainy morning indoors.

Commentary: Today’s was a pleasant morning, beginning with a bit of creative writing and a beef pasture check. After the latter activity, I returned to Jacobhouse where I wrote for a little while longer before engaging in a minor fungi hunt near the cattle field just east of Jacobhouse. It soon began to rain, so I returned home where I took refuge from the outdoors’ prevalent moisture. It was during the ensuing comfortable (and cozy) hours that I wrote this post, tended to a little bit more creative writing, baked some bread for sandwiches, and engaged in leisure-related computer activities – primarily Path of Exile.

Here are some pictures I took during today’s early hours:

  • Mushrooms growing at the base of a hack berry tree.
  • Lantana blossom.
  • Fresh basil.
  • Freshly toasted fungi bread.
  • Bread mold.
  • A foot for scale.
  • The actual bread I made today.

(5:50 PM Update:) For lunch, I made prosciutto/tomato/basil/mozzarella sandwiches on the bread that I cooked this morning and dressed them in a garlic-balsamic vinaigrette. This delicious episode was ensued by a tad more leisure time at Jacobhouse and then by farm activities in a thankfully precipitation-free environment. These tasks included: feeding bovines, helping Padre work a couple cows through the treatment chute, and genetic testing a few wagyu calves. My brother also visited for a brief time because he wanted to see how my freezer room project and Padre’s studio were progressing. After the ensuing evening beef pasture check, I returned to Jacobhouse where I ordered two windows* for the freezer room from Home Depot.

Final Note: Tomorrow, I will be venturing down to the Harbison Farm market to procure the weekly produce. It will likely be my last visit there before the impending trip to southern Europe. After / before market activities, I shall engage in some sort of Master Blend freezer room shenanigans.

  1. Great Pictures, and just so everybody knows your foot is a size 16, so that was an extra big fungi.
