A bullock fence (and some Moo-Magic).

(Above: A view of the bullocks from within the hole they dug. As can be seen, there is now a wire to prevent them from more digging.)

Active Summary: Today I woke up, performed calisthenic exercises, wrote for about 30 minutes and then met Padre outdoors for the morningly beef pasture check. This was ensued by a return to Jacobhouse where I wrote for a while longer and tended to Macroeconomics work. At about 9:30 AM, I ventured back outdoors and tended to a variety of activities including: erecting a small electric fence*, placing a barrel-and-wood table in front of the hole that will be the southern freezer room window, and making up 17 Moo-Magic bags (one more for garden #2 and the rest for the manure stand). Lunch consisted of leftover stew, a baked sweet potato, and a hefty amount of garden-fresh salad.

(7:40 PM Update:) This afternoon I wrote for a while before heading out to participate in cattle-related shenanigans. These included: catching a couple bovines for chute-work, checking calves for ailments, and pitchforking feed. This was ensued by my planning/placing the south freezer room window and moving Moo-Magic bags/concrete ‘planter’ blocks down to garden #2. The afternoon was concluded with a beef pasture check and the removal of a somewhat hefty steer from a trough into which he had been knocked upside down. Now I’m finishing up this entry before heading over to the Padre studio for dinner.

Final Note: I intend to finish mounting the freezer room’s south window soon, but tomorrow morning’s main task will likely be providing a home / creating supports for the tomato plants that Brimage brought us yesterday. It appears that it is also time for another weekly Jacobhouse cleaning.

*The bullocks in the lot next door were digging into a patch of earth located directly above mine and Madre’s DSL cables. I saw a little bit of exposed orange and thought I should probably cover it up before the beasts decided to dig it out completely / rip it apart.
