A bit too long.

5/30/2020

(Above: Where Jacob lived on 5-30-2020.)

Active Summary: Today began with calisthenics, a beef pasture check, and about 1.5 hours of writing. This was followed by my tending to a few Master Blend customers, inputting all inventory onto the live chart, and making calls / taking orders for this afternoon. At the end of the morning, I pulled a chuck steak out of the freezer for lunch whereupon I: coated it with olive oil & about two teaspoons of salt, cooked it on a preheated grill for 4 minutes per side, slipped it into a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 15 minutes, and then brought it over for a lunch at Padre’s studio.

(7:03 PM Update:) Following lunch, I returned to the Master Blend freezer room where I waited for and then tended to a couple customers before taking a brief respite at Jacobhouse. Even more customers arrived after I departed Jacobhouse, and they also did once more during farm activities (one of them being a group of three fellows from the local fire station). As to the farm activities themselves, they consisted of the usual feeding, checking, and treating, but also included the arrival / inspection of 3 bovines (belonged to friends of the family) and the walking up / aided calving of a Holstein heifer. Now, I am finishing this entry before entering order totals, inventory, and etc.

The local fire crew departing after they purchased some delectable beef. One of those guys got some excellent-looking New York Strips.

Final Note: It is almost time for me to be done for the day. Thank goodness. (I’ll have more pictures tomorrow.)
