4/2/19:
Building Summary: Today I installed the closet-wall’s four bracket boxes, threaded the appropriate wires into each of them, stripped those wires, and then fastened them into place with wire staples*. It should also be noted that Madre started pressure washing Jacobhouse today. This came of an agreement we made recently where she would paint the house in exchange for my digging some giant holes for her own impending container project.
Commentary: It was rainy and cool outside this morning as I ventured down to Jacobhouse. Fortunately, that only mattered for the first few minutes of walking, as upon entering the abode, I was met with dry warmth. An enjoyable and quiet morning of electrical work ensued.
As for highlights, a spot of especial satisfaction occurred at the end of the walk I just described, for it was there that I got to see the mini-gutter in action for the first time. Between the rain water coming off of the sail-shade and the bit coming off the roof of the container itself, there was actually a noticeable stream**.
Final Note: I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be doing tomorrow. At some point soon – perhaps even before the cupboards are built – the plywood for Jacobhouse’s floor will be obtained and installed. This will make the work surface much more easily navigable, and if I’m able to put plywood over the raised kitchen area, it will give me a great place to stand while fastening up the above-counter cupboards.
Additional Note: The FedEx Business Grant Contest voting period has ended. We’ll get to see if Master Blend made it to the Top 100 by April 5!
*Padre put in three staples while I was taking more pictures of the cabinets that came in yesterday.
** I was also impressed by how dry the deck was. Even though it had been raining for a few hours, there weren’t any drips along the east or south edges. That’ll come in handy when I have a grill set up out there.
