Summary: Today began with calisthenics, piano practice, and a brief bout of work on Principles of Advertising. This was followed by a beef pasture inspection and then by about 15 minutes of gardening. I next returned to Jacobhouse, and there, wrote for about 2.5 hours until noontime (the only break arriving in form of a Master Blend customer). At 12:25 PM, I ventured over to the Studio for a lunch of baked potatoes, leftover chuck roast, and a spinach salad.
(7:12 PM Update:) Afternoon activities were initiated with my answering a couple PoA discussion questions, contacting Centurylink to fix my decrepit internet, and enjoying a brief repose. Outdoor activities came after all this and included farm tasks, some very brief work on Madre’s Office, and more internet-fixing shenanigans. The foremost task included chasing a cow up to the barn (for breeding) with Padre via Segway & flagging tape, checking the field for ailing creatures, and retrieving a sick calf from the pasture and placing it near the barn with its mother. The Madre-Office project work consisted of drilling a couple holes for wiring the bathroom fan. Internet-fixing consisted of a lengthy telephone call that did not fix my internet but did result in a technician appointment on Monday the 19th.
Final Note: Now that I have returned indoors from the day’s final beef pasture inspection, I am concluding this entry as a pizza bakes in the oven. Leisure time will follow dinner, though I am uncertain if it will include much gaming on account of poor internet.
Additional Note: Last night, I finished reading the History of Don Quixote. It was a humorous book that was the first of its kind – a modern novel – and detailed the adventures of a knight-errant (a mentally unsound nobleman) and his squire (a farmer under Quixote’s jurisdiction) through Spain of the 17th century. Seeing as the two parts of the book were written in 1605 and 1615, I can safely say that I was well-entertained by a piece of work that has been in existence for over 400 years. Though the story itself is simple, there are passages throughout that connect those olden times to our own, and despite Quixote’s madness, there is something to be said of the values he upholds till the very last.
