Jacob peering into the sewer line leaving his container home.

Exterior stub-up, unstubbed.

3/18/19:

Building Summary: Today I glued together the PVC to CPVC converter, hooked it to the exterior stub-up with Padre’s help, and cut a piece of 3″ pipe to create a ‘stub-down’ from Jacobhouse so it is ready for whenever we attach the sewage line to the septic system. I also received an email from Custom Kitchen Hardware today, and the piece I was planning on putting at the end of the counter was not a panel but instead a strip of ‘surfacing material’. Seeing as I will hardly see that end, I will likely go with: 1 set of 12″ drawers, 1 36″ kitchen sink cabinet, 2 36″x30″ inch wall cupboards, and 1 30″x15″ wall cupboard.*

Commentary (6:19 PM): There was more progress at Jacobhouse this morning. The water line is now in-house, but it is not yet connected to the CPVC lines I plumbed in a few weeks ago. This shall be remedied quite soon, I think, and to add to this, I will soon be able to glue valves to every single stub-up. I really look forward to turning on the water after the converter and valves are all in place; it’ll be interesting to see how my glue-job holds up.

As for additional commentary… Creative juices are running a tad low at the moment, but perhaps they will become available after a brief journey outdoors.

Continued Commentary (7:19 PM): I did happen to remember a highlight from this morning while I was out and about. Interestingly, it concerns creativity. Not my own, but of another. Namely, Padre. Indeed, as I was gluing together the PVC-to-CPVC converter in the early day’s sun, I found myself suddenly serenaded with “Jacob in the morning“. It was exactly what one would imagine such a song to be; a merry-toned and improvised tune that consisted solely of those four words (except a refrain that went something like “This is my song about Jacob in the morning.”

Though the song made me (and Wag, who was present at the time) cringe slightly, I appreciated the sentiment behind it**.

Final note: Tomorrow, I will be gluing the PVC-to-CPVC converter to Jacobhouse’s internal waterlines. If the valves have come in by that point, I will also begin gluing them to the stub-ups. Other than that? I suppose I’ll just have to find some other shenanigans to get into***.

Additional Note: The Fedex Small Business Grant Contest is still in progress. Feel free to vote for us here. Thanks!

* The depth of the lower furnishings are 24″, and the depth of the wall-mounted furnishings are 12″.

** I actually mean it… but remember novelty is a factor.

*** I know I’ve said it before, but cabinets shall be ordered soon.
