(Above: The namesake of this day’s post.)
Active Summary: Today began with writing, calisthenic exercises, a few minor chores, and a ride around the beef pasture with Padre. This was ensued by my inspecting both gardens and then returning to Jacobhouse and writing for another 1.5 hours. Next, I began preparing food for lunch and dinner. The former consisted of my oiling / salting some potatoes and preparing a carrot & onion salad, while the latter included making bread dough, apple ‘sauce’, and collecting / feeding Doug the sourdough starter. Lunch took place at 12:15 PM.
(5:48 PM Update:) This afternoon began with my tending to a Master Blend customer, forming / filling / glazing the apple-swirl circle, lightly seasoning the picanha rump roast for this evening’s dinner, and a brief rest in the Jacobhouse bed as it rained quite heavily outside. I next ventured outdoors where I helped: capture a couple cows – one for embryo transfer and one for dehorning*, catch a couple calves for treatment, check the beef pasture for ailing animals, and dig out a bovine sewage ditch. After a seltzer break and another beef pasture inspection, I returned to Jacobhouse where I am presently finishing up today’s entry.
Final Note: After concluding this entry, I will tend to Master Blend inventory-keeping. This shall be ensued by some leisure time and then by my preparing and cooking the picanha-style rump roast. The package said rump roast, but it looks like Picanha, especially with the way that there is a fat cap along the top. Pictures of this evening’s meal shall be shown in tomorrow’s entry.
