Opening the curtains of the office just a ‘peep’ reveals a scene of simultaneously rampant and scenic overgrowth.

Active Summary: This day began with calisthenics, writing, and a beef pasture inspection with Padre. Afterward, I returned to Jacobhouse and wrote for about two hours, tending to the clothing loads* as they finished washing. After the final load was taken care of, I ventured outdoors, filled 9 Moo-Magic compost bags, and took a brief seltzer break in the freezer room. Lunch preparations ensued and consisted primarily of coating vegetables (zucchini, summer squash, and potatoes) and a couple small cubed steaks with Aneta’s seasoned lard and tossing them on the grill. Lunch consisted of the roasted vegetables & beef alongside a generous portion of excellent watermelon.

(5:04 PM Update:) Afternoon activities began with writing and rest. This was ensued by cattle-related activities, including: salting feed, catching a calf for treatment, checking the pasture (and finding that one cow had calved and another was calving), treating the aforementioned calf, and performing a final beef pasture inspection with Padre**.

Final Note: Following the completion of this entry, I intend to write for a little while and then make a journey in to Mesa De Notte of Ocala with Madre and Padre. There, a pleasant meal will be had (pictures tomorrow), before being followed by some late-evening leisure.

Red Wagyus.
One of the more interesting things I have found about these creatures is that they possess solid red hooves.

*Bedding that I commenced to hang outside to dry. What would have taken the washer/dryer 12 hours to dry took the sun and breeze less than 3. It was an admittedly toasty morning.

** May end up out there again if the calving cow is in need of aid.
