Peach galette (and Hello World.)

Active Summary: Today began with calithenics, surveying the beef pasture, and over an hour’s worth of writing. This was ensued by my venturing outdoors to tend garden #1 which included: weeding (collected a 5-gallon bucket’s worth of packed vegetation), pulling up a few salsify in danger of root rot*, and training some of the more adventurous Malabar summer spinach trailers onto the east fence. I next put together a Master Blend beef order and then returned to Jacobhouse where I prepared salsify, sweet potatoes, and a russet potato for baking. At this point, I also mixed together 1.3 cups of pastry dough which I intend to utilize later on in the day. Morning activities concluded with my visiting Padre’s studio and the consuming of lunch – roasted sweet potatoes / salisfy, salad, and a little bit of watermelon.

(4:35 PM Update:) This afternoon began with my preparing a peach-galette and consisted of: cutting / peeling peaches (and eating the peels), spreading dough with a rolling pin, placing the dough in a casserole glass, and folding it around a filling of peaches, cinnamon, & 2 tablespoons of coconut sugar. I took a brief rest in Jacobhouse’s high-bed as the pastry cooked, and then ventured outdoors where I helped with a little bit of bovine-related activities and tended to a couple Master Blend customers. Indoors, I am now writing today’s entry and processing pictures. As soon as I am done, I’m going to enjoy playing some Path of Exile.

The peach galette – a simple yet quite delicious looking pastry.

(4:47 PM Update:) Right as I was loading up Path of Exile, the power flickered once. I thought nothing of it, but then it flickered again… or more like flicked. Off. Oh well, I will instead read some more of the ‘The Idiot’ by Fyodor Dostoevsky. And here is a special video taken two evenings ago.

After this video, the bovine mother continued to waddle her way to the middle of the field.
There, her spawn commenced to fall down to the ground like normal calves do and has since lived quite healthily and happily.

Final Note: Tomorrow I intend to visit Mr. Nickle’s produce stand in an effort to obtain another Mercedes Melon (or three).

*I find that when the salsify tops begin to wither, it is usually because of encroaching root fungus.
