3/7/19:
Building Summary: Today, I peeled the protective layering off the oven hood’s stainless steel ‘exhaust cover’. This was followed by my attaching the appliance to the wall more sturdily via two additional self-tapping screws. After this, Padre and I planned about what should be done in regard to kitchen cabinets.
Commentary: As I am beginning to write this entry, it is 8:48 PM at night. This means that I’m starting 18 minutes after my 12-hour point. Fortunately, there were a few clearly defined highlights today, so I won’t have to strain the brain too much to find something of note.
Highlight #1 occurred this morning, and it is something I was already looking forward to yesterday. Indeed, it was the peeling off of the protective coat from the oven hood’s duct cover. It was an immensely satisfying procedure, and I made a goal of attempting to do so in a manner to create the largest ‘pieces’ of plastic as possible.
Highlight #2 happened shortly after this episode when I was attaching the oven hood the wall. As stated above, I felt the need to attach the appliance to the wall with a couple additional self-tapping screws. This was easier planned than done, because the two screws needed to go in at height about four inches above my head. I attempted to do it by myself a few times, using a variety of strategies that to an outside observer must have appeared akin to the methods of an infuriated monkey (one of which included the use of a three-pound hammer). Alas, it was all to no avail. Fortunately, Padre came in about that point, and via my being able to lean back against him, I was able to put the screws in with (relative) ease.
Highlight #3 came this evening. It’s a large gap, I know, but that’s where it occurred all the same, for it was when I got back from work (farm activities and a little bit more container planning) that I made some bread, and then proceeded to make prosciutto sandwiches from that bread*. The combination of crunchy/gooey sandwiches with crisp romaine salad and sorghum beer was a perfect end to a long and productive day.
Final Note: Tomorrow morning I will likely be doing more research in regard to the Zoro supply list, and I shall be shopping about for some 24″ (tall) by 30-35″ (wide) cabinets that I will be putting up above the kitchen counter-space. It should also be noted that over the coming weekend, container activities will be limited due to the advent of a new ‘season’ in the online game I play: Path of Exile. **
*The same sort as I’ve linked before: ~ 5 slices of Del Duca prosciutto, a handful of dry mozzarella, a half-handful of mini-tomatoes, 5-8 leaves basil, a heavy dousing of garlic-imbued balsamic vinaigrette, salt, pepper, and all on top of a homemade half-loaf of Cuban bread.
** A very fun and extremely well-made (if not a tad complex) F2P dungeon crawler. I take a little bit of time off every season to immerse myself in this piece of art – an occurrence that happens about once every four months.
