McCan, McCan’t, or neither?

4/17/2020

[Above: The McCan Pump in question. I still don’t know if it useable, but I may have found a lead in form of another mode of carbonation entirely (and one that does not require electricity*).]

Active Summary: Today began with some calisthenics, writing, and a ride through the beef pasture with Padre. This was ensued by more writing, some carbonation-machine research, and then by the weekly cleaning of Jacobhouse. After cleaning, I made a lunch of cheese curds, a smoked-cheddar omelet, and a large cucumber salad.

(5:24 PM Update:) Afternoon activities consisted of a little bit more carbonation research, attending to the beefy desires of two Master Blend customers, making a take-out order to La Cuisine for dinner this evening, and helping with a number of cattle-related activities, including: feeding / catching bovines, checking calves for ailments, checking on a couple calving bovines, and replacing a cable gate. I also installed the four tomato cages I fabricated yesterday. Now I am taking a 30 minute break before heading back out with Padre to check if a cow has calved.

Final (6:59 PM) Update: The calf had to be extricated from the mother bovine’s posterior after Padre, Wag, and I walked her to the barn (with great difficulty). It is currently alive and quite well, being licked by its Brahman mother’s sizeable tongue. The only task remaining to this day is to go fetch Padre, Madre, and myself dinner from La Cuisine, and that is what I am going to do right now. There will be a picture of tonight’s dinner in tomorrow’s post.

The new arrival: A Belgian Blue / Brahman hybrid.

*There are less expensive versions of this available, and I might be able to fabricate a way where I can refill the tank’s water and Co2 with a mere turn of valves. I think I could integrate a tap into this setup as well.
