Rainy day (and a caterpillar).

4/15/2020

(Above: A caterpillar that fell on me this morning while walking under an oak tree.)

Active Summary: Today I performed the typical early-morning regimen and then ventured outside to check the beef pasture with Padre. This was ensued by an hour’s worth of writing at Jacobhouse and then by a brief ride to obtain eggs from Rachael’s (the Egg-lady) farm. On returning to the farm, I prepared a Master Blend Beef order, worked on the freezer room window a little bit, and visited with / ate an early lunch with Padre and Madre at the studio*.

(7:04 PM Update:) After lunch, I tended to two Master Blend customers, the second of which arrived right at the same time as the frigid rain. This was ensued by more carbonation-related research** and then by inventory management for Master Blend. Farm activities followed, and included: helping empty a rain-filled trough, feeding / catching bovines, checking calves for ailments, and performing a beef pasture check with Padre. On returning to Jacobhouse for the afternoon, I prepared dinner by putting together a small pot of stew and baking a potato.

Final Note: After completing this day’s entry, I’ll be writing a little bit before heading over to the studio for a dinner of beef tongue stew. Pleasant activities for a rainy evening.

* Round-steak sandwiches on toasted homemade onion-bread and with a delicious mustard-green salad to the side.

**It hasn’t gotten old… yet. I look forward to getting these first parts in to see what I’m going to need next.
