A piano in Jacobhouse.

Active Summary: Today I woke up, performed calisthenic exercises, drove around the beef pasture with Padre, and then wrote for about 1.25 hours. This was followed by my venturing back outdoors, obtaining aid from Padre in taking the Clavinova Piano from Jacobhouse and placing it in the Master Blend Freezer room, and then performing some internet-related tests with Padre and his cellular signal amplifier (cell signal booster). After finding that it would work very well for him and not-so-well for myself (more in TIL), we met a couple friends at Aneta’s Bistro in Ocala where we ate plenty of sausage and procured a food-vessel for Madre before heading back homeward.

(8:14 PM Update:) Afternoon activities consisted of many cattle-related activities, including: catching/running cows through the treatment chute, vaccinating (and giving epinephrine to) a calf, performing a somewhat chilly beef pasture check, and fixing an electric fence. This was ensued by my harvesting greens for dinner, helping Padre a little bit with his sink drain, and finally tending to the day’s ultimate event: moving Oldhouse’s upright piano into Jacobhouse. My first dinner at Padre’s Studio consisted of a salad and a small baked potato. It was delectable.

TIL: After engaging in about a week’s worth of ‘test gaming’ on my Visible hotspot, I have deemed it unsuitable for playing Path of Exile. The latency simply is not stable enough. I could become accustomed to playing at 135 MS (0.135 seconds delay between my button press and what I see on the screen) which is approximately double the MS I am used to. I cannot, however, accommodate the random ping spikes upwards of 250-500 MS (.25-.5 seconds delay). This is unfortunate, but I am still paying $50.00 per month less than I was previously paying for my phone service, and I’m effectively more than doubling my download and upload speed by having two sources available. So, it’s not a complete loss. The only thing that has taken a thorough beating is my pride, for I am bound in the shackles of Centurylink once more.

Commentary: The absolute first play of the new piano in Jacobhouse.

Final Note: Tomorrow I plan on having a somewhat normal day, albeit I know there will be some moving of kitchen implements and appliances into Jacobhouse. I also think there will be a trip to the farm market.

  1. I hope you will record more piano sessions (and longer) in the future. Thank you. ——
