2/22/2026: Today began in the mid 60s and warmed into the low 70s. Mostly sunny. Cooled slightly throughout the day.
Lunch consisted of a fried mixture of duck eggs, peanuts, and árbol chili peppers. This was accompanied by a colorful salad made by my father and drizzled with a spicy vinaigrette. After dinner, Padre, Shae, and I went to pick some oranges from the orange tree in the southeast corner of the ranch. We used the calf catcher and it worked very well. Lunch consisted of a fried mixture of duck eggs, beef, and sweet potato. This was accompanied by a colorful salad drizzled with a spicy vinaigrette. El almuerzo consistía en una mezcla frita de huevos de pato, carne de res y batata. Todo esto estaba acompañado de una ensalada colorida rociada con una vinagreta picante. 
After lunch, I prepared the barbecue-style stew for dinner, browning the meat and preparing the broth. Después del almuerzo, preparé el guiso estilo barbacoa para la cena, dorando la carne y preparando el caldo.

There was also some avocado to garnish the steak and a horn of red wine to drink. Final Note: Jacobhouse on the fine late-winter’s day of March 1, 2026. This video was a bit impromptu; the abode simply looked splendid in the early afternoon’s light, the garden was growing quite well, and, in the case of the interior, I knew I had just performed the weekly cleaning (minus the slightly leafy shower—blame the oaks’ springtime shedding). I’ve been living here for almost 6.5 years now.
What a fantastic week, definitely a few travails sprinkled throughout but much to enjoy. Jacobhouse 6 plus years in, but it just keeps getting better. As always thanks for sharing.
