Week of February 8, 2026 – Victor benches his own weight, wild oranges, more drinking horns, a Night in Paris, & defining life.

Side note: The “Night in Paris” was an event unlike any I had ever attended. The music, the dancing, the food & drink, and the people lent it an atmosphere that, in this day and age, felt halfway between bohemian and cosmopolitan. What I mean is that there was a combination of bohemian values (freedom of creativity & self-expression) as well as cosmopolitan values (travel, international experience, and social ease). As I told P, I think the only other places I’ve experienced similar are Casa Spratling and Home.

2/14/2026: Today began in the low 40s and warmed into the high 70s. Mostly sunny.

Final Note: I was originally going to say that “Part of being a conscious individual is defining my desires instead of letting them define me.” While that is true, I think it could be applied to much more: dislikes, behaviors, circumstances, and when it comes down to it, life itself. So I think that’s what I’ll go with.

Being conscious consists of defining my life instead of letting my life define me.

Here’s another song with improved tempo. With a bit of concentration, I was able to stay (mostly) on time without aid of a metronome.

  1. Again after going through this week’s blog I’m reminded of just how much can happen in one week. Tremendous, much appreciate you sharing all that happened, and the food.
