(Above: A suspicious and somewhat rough area in the freezer building’s ridge cap… It almost looks like a face.)
Active Summary: This morning began with a customary beef pasture check and was ensued by a mishmash of school, Jacobhouse’s weekly cleaning, and creative writing. The morning’s final activity consisted of climbing the ladder that Padre and I had moved earlier on in the morning and sweeping off the freezer-room building’s roof.
(6:43 PM Update:) I submitted even more schoolwork this afternoon, leaving only one discussion post as the final task for my American History class. This was ensued by a bit of cattle-related activity (vaccinating young bovines), another beef pasture check, and then another climb up to the Master Blend freezer building’s roof. There, I lopped off any and all low-hanging branches. After that, I briefly helped Padre with some PVC gluing at his studio project.
TIL: Today I learned that shoes – not rubber boots – are the best footwear to utilize whilst performing on-roof activities. Shoes are thinner in the soles, which allows for tactile perception, and the ankles are not near so stiff.
Commentary: The weather started off rather chilly this morning (low-50s) but soon warmed up to a pleasant 73 F by midday. It made for some prime roof-work weather. As for highlights, I will say that I’m very satisfied with the amount of school-related activities I accomplished today. With only a minor assignment remaining and a current score of 100.8 %, I think it’s safe to say that I will achieve an A in the class.
Final Note: Tomorrow is market day. So, in addition to venturing down to procure the weekly vegetables and completing my morningly creative writing, I plan on ascending to the freezer building’s roof and performing a quick repair to the suspicious-spot* on the ridge cap. It should also be noted that I found a somewhat sizeable pecan sapling growing right beside the Master Blend freezer room’s edifice. It cannot remain there, so my intention is to attempt digging it up and replanting it.
*As can be seen in the image above, the ridge cap is in rough shape where it overlaps. My intention is to utilize some Locktite construction glue in the places that may be leaking and then to rivet the overlapping pieces of metal together.
