1/24/2018:
Building Summary: Today I prepared the sewer line for gluing. This consisted of knocking apart the pipes / pipe pieces with a 3-pound hammer and a wedge-shaped piece of 2×4, and it also included my neatening up Jacobhouse a little bit more (clearing everything away from the area in which I’ll be working).
Commentary: I did not get to work much on Jacobhouse today due to various other life/farm-related shenanigans. However, as stated above, I did get enough time to knock apart pipes, tidy up, and plan for tomorrow’s venture. The foremost bit is what I’d deem to be highlight #1 for today. I don’t know if it’s the residual Neanderthal genetics, but I’ve found that it is just plain satisfying to beat things into place – or in this case, beat them apart – with a big ole hammer*.
Highlight #2 is included as a picture down below. I captured the image on my morningly ride-around with Padre when we ventured into one of our pastures to check up on a little wagyu calf. There, after finding the little one to be healthy and running around sprightly-like, we discovered some rocks covered with what appeared to be lichen. It was blooming, likely on account of the rain we received last night.
*It should be noted that I used a wooden wedge along with that hammer… felt like a smarter alternative to bashing the pipe directly.
A bit more Neanderthal than average can be a good thing, at least that’s what I tell myself.
