Clamps!

1/20/19:

Building Summary: Today, I used the boards I cut yesterday to build a frame. This frame will lift the toilet and sink area above the currently protruding drain pipes.

Commentary: Not every post has to be of philosophical nature. As a matter of fact, much of the Walden philosophy is about appreciating the world as it is – not as it supposedly should or could be. So, for today’s highlight, I’m going to share an image.

Clampfest: a celebration of warped boards brought into line.

How many clamps are being used here? Five would be the answer to that question. Why? Well, the boards I chose for this frame were not of the utmost quality (they are scrap boards after all), so when I was fastening the last corner of the sub-toilet/sink frame, I was contending with quite a lot of warp. Fortunately, with clamps, I was able to wrestle the wood into place. There’s still some bend to the 65″ board on the back side, but that’ll be corrected when I fasten it down to the bathroom’s base frame.

On that note, I suppose I already have tomorrow’s work cut out for me.
