Week of August 20, 2023 – A sitting cow, time travel, and first hints of Autumn.

Final Note: This week, the teacher of my Organizational Communications class asked an innocent question “If you could time travel, what date would you travel to and why?” To it, I gave the following over-the-top response:

Time travel is a tricky ability with very limited use. I’m not referring to the way that it can alter timelines or anything like that. The fact of the matter is this: Our earth, solar system, and galaxy are all moving. Thus, time traveling to any date while my own position remains the same would place me in the middle of outer space.

I would, however, still utilize my ability, and I’d do so as any responsible human being would. On the day of my expected death, I would take a big drink of cyanobacteria-inundated seawater and leap back in time to September 22nd in the year of 13.83 billion BCE. There, I would witness the birth of the universe, I’d meet the Creator if there is one, and if not, my corpse would become a creator in its own right with just enough smidgens of DNA, RNA, and/or cyanobacteria surviving the incredible heat of the early universe to provide material for future life.

Thanks for the question, it gave me plenty of mental entertainment for my trip home from class.

  1. I guarantee that’s about as original answer as your professor ever received, who comes up with something like that, thanks for sharing, sometimes reading the blog is like traveling through time in its own right
