Final Note: A quote from Hattun in the latest draft of Bakkan – P1 S2 C14:

“Fortunately, Old Jung was there to help. He was another set o’ eyes, and with those eyes and his many seasons’ experience, guided me to realize my strengths, my weaknesses, and how to recognize both in my opponents. T’was also him that granted me a fine line o’ advice when I came to realize what a staggerin’ number o’ weaknesses I possessed.

“He put a question t’me in his broken Common: In your land, men made many way, yes? Men made of word. Men of wood. Some men bone and some stone?

“Though I had no idea how a witchdoctor in the East could know o’ the Ways, I answered t’ the affirmative, and to that affirmative he went on;

“Then do not waste time build boat of stone or road with word, and do not write scroll with bone or ride wood horse. They go nowhere. Find your make and use as meant. Then you go where want to go.

“Them words… they helped me in sport as well as in life. You see, I’d always known that I had at least a few flaws, and I was comfortable with the fact. Comfy ’cause I’d made it my passion to find n’ fix every one o’ them or die tryin’ my very best t’do so. Jung, though; he’d gone n’ taught me a different sort o’ best. He’d taught me that it’s a far more cheery course to focus on the finest aspects o’ one’s self rather than strugglin’ t’become something yer not – that is, usin’ those stones t’ build a road instead o’ a bloody boat.”

  1. Quite the week, many excellent meals, plenty to do and a day off and about. Much appreciate all the photos… and the words, this week no stone boat for me I hope.
