9/26/2020 – Madre sewer, Part 4.

9/26/2020

(Above: The sub-floor portion of Madre’s sewer line is now completely glued.)

Summary: Today began with calisthenics, Master Blend correspondence, and piano practice. This was ensued by a beef pasture inspection with Padre where we found a herd of mostly healthy creatures* and a newborn Wagyu calf. I next returned to Jacobhouse and tended to a number of housekeeping task before completing over an hour’s worth of writing. A Master Blend customer contacted me at 10 AM, and after tending to him and managing the resultant inventory change and order-totals, I enjoyed some leisure. I had a particularly fine time playing Path of Exile and watching as myriad birds bathed in garden sprinkler just outside the office. This continued until about 12:00 PM which is when the midday meal occurred; it consisted of baked potatoes and springmix salad.

(7:21 PM Update:) This afternoon began with trimming Wagyu short ribs and chopping up some mushrooms and onion to sauté alongside them. The next hour was spent in a leisurely manner, and at 3 PM, I ventured outdoors to help Padre with cattle-related tasks. The first portion of today’s farm work only entailed some feeding and a beef pasture inspection. Next, Padre and I ventured down to Sparr Farm Supply where we procured calf tags and a pipe part for Madre’s container project.

Part two of the afternoon was spent measuring, putting together, planning, and gluing some pipes. At one point, I made a mistake** and had to drive back down to Sparr Farm Supply, but other than that, it was a fairly productive process that resulted in a fully glued sewer line and PVC-to-CPVC converter.

Part three of the afternoon consisted of riding into the beef pasture with Padre, Wag, and Uncle Eric and tagging three calves belonging to three very protective mothers. Though it took a while, the task was completed. I next helped a Master Blend Customer & friend before riding into the beef pasture with Padre one last time to attempt de-bloating an extremely bloated calf***.

Final Note: Now that I’ve returned to Jacobhouse, I intend to conclude this entry and then begin preparing this evening’s feast. It shall consist of filleted Wagyu short ribs served alongside a plenitude of vegetation.

* (10:00 AM) There was one calf with a large bloat-belly whose fate is yet to be determined.

** One of my small pipes sunk in a tad too deep, and I was not comfortable with a half-fitted piece on account of its being subjected to pressure in the future.

*** (7:21 PM) It’s fate is still undetermined, but at this point, it is not looking favorable.
