8/28/2020 – Cow fell on her head.

(Above: Barbwire and balsam apple vines, found just before the scene mentioned in this post’s title.)

Summary: Today began with calisthenics, piano practice, desk rearrangement, and writing. This was ensued by my venturing outdoors to perform the morningly beef pasture inspection with Padre. I next returned to Jacobhouse where I completed the weekly cleaning and wrote for almost two hours. To conclude morning activities, I prepared fish for lunch and fed Doug the sourdough starter. Lunch occurred at 12:25 PM and consisted of white fish (primarily Haemulon plumierii commonly known as the ‘common grunt’), cucumber salad, and watermelon.

I had no pre-lunch pictures this day, so here are pictures that I took this afternoon (videos will be below the late-day summary):

(7:20 PM Update:) The afternoon was initiated with some writing, tending to some UF finance shenanigans, working on cut sheets for Master Blend, and partaking of some leisure. I next ventured outdoors where I helped with myriad outdoor activities, including: bucket moving, open/closing gates, checking the beef pasture for ailing creatures*, helping Madre plan for the plumbing in her container dwelling, tending to Master Blend customers, and performing the day’s final beef pasture inspection with Padre.

The reason I was filming at this time was to record a medical symptom (possibly a seizure).
On coming closer, however, I realized that the cow was simply laying on her head.
After a minute of wobbling around, this cow resumed normal walking. I’m guessing that she was involved in an heat(estrus)-related shenanigan.

Final Note: I must conclude quickly, for it is almost time to cook dinner. Tonight it is going to be Master Blend chuck steak accompanied by a springmix / spinach salad and a glass of Nero D’Avola wine.

*Here, I found that a new Beefmaster calf had been born, and I saved a cow who had fallen on her head.
