(Above: A picture of juvenile Euthyrhynchus floridanus. Whoever named this insect was a genius. Take a look at that specie nomenclature: floridanus. Certainly, the insect’s primary homeland is Florida, but there is also the definition of ‘florid’ to be considered. [florid: having a red or flushed complexion] Thus, floridanus is an excellent name for a specie of red-rumped insect whose native home is Florida.)
Summary: Today began with calisthenics, piano practice, and neatening Jacobhouse. This was followed by a beef pasture inspection with Padre and then by about 2.5 hours of writing. I next placed some potatoes in the oven, tended to Master Blend correspondence, and then ventured over to the Studio for lunch at 12:15 PM. The midday meal consisted of leftover soup from Sushi Bistro, baked potatoes, and a large Padre-made/Madre-dressed salad.
(6:44 PM Update:) This afternoon was initiated with Master Blend inventory management, writing a portion of this entry, and leisure. Next, I ventured outdoors to help with various farm shenanigans, including: moving feed buckets, catching bovines for vaccination & eye treatment, helping an early-born calf nurse, checking the barn & beef pasture for ailing creatures, breaking up feed via pitchfork, and performing the final herd inspection for the day. On returning to Jacobhouse, I wrote the remainder of this entry and mixed together a blend of cocoa powder, ½ cup sugar, 2 cups heavy cream, and 2 cups whole milk. I may transform this mixture into chocolate ice cream later this evening; I want to see what happens if I churn it for longer than I have been*.
Final Note: After concluding this entry, the remainder of today will likely be spent partaking of leisure. This will likely include making ice cream, eating dinner at the studio, playing some PoE, or reading more Don Quixote.
*The theory is that if I churn it longer, more air will be added to the mixture and thus make the ice-cream more creamy (and less prone to freeze into a brick).
Icecream good… ‘grunt’… want more
