Summary: Today began with calisthenics, piano practice, and beef back rib preparation (cutting racks to the appropriate length and cleaning the cooking grates by heating them on the grill). This was ensued by performing a beef pasture check with Padre whose Segway was malfunctioning. On returning to Jacobhouse, I placed the ribs into the mulberry smoke filled smoker, completed a few housekeeping tasks, and wrote for two hours. I basted the ribs with BBQ sauce at that point, started a couple baked potatoes in the oven, and visited Padre at studio at 11:40 AM. Lunch occurred about an hour afterward and consisted of BBQ ribs, baked potatoes, and cucumber salad. It was all delicious.
(4:11 PM Update:) Afternoon activities were initiated with writing a portion of this entry and some leisure. This was followed by my venturing outdoors at 2:18 PM to aid with cattle-related tasks, including: chasing up a bovine who was calving, extricating the calf (dead, unfortunately), capturing more bovines for embryo transfer and breeding*, and feeding a few bovines via 5-gallon bucket. After all these tasks were complete, and following a seltzer break, I returned to Jacobhouse where I took down my rainsoaked clothing, moved them into the dryer, and then commenced to clean off the mud and farm grime from myself.
Final Note: I may work a little bit more on writing today, and I expect to return outdoors later for a beef pasture inspection. Other than that, though, the rest of the day shall likely consist of leisure.
