8/19/2020 – Blood Sausage Sandwich

8/19/2020

(Above: A delicious, steaming hot, and quite sizeable blood sausage sandwich from Aneta’s Bistro.)

Summary: Today began with calisthenics, morningly piano practice*, and a few short-duration chores. This was ensued by my venturing outdoors to fill 9 Moo-Magic bags before participating in the morning’s beef pasture inspection. Next, after moving the compost down to the road stand with Padre’s aid, I returned to Jacobhouse where I wrote for over 1.5 hours. To conclude morning activities, I accompanied Madre and Padre into town to eat at Aneta’s for lunch. The food was excellent today and consisted of bean soup (with an assortment of pork), cabbage salad, a piece of potato pancake, and the above-shown blood sausage sandwich.

(4:56 PM Update:) Afternoon activities began with Master Blend correspondence, writing, and rest within the Jacobhouse bed. I next stepped outside to help with farm related activities which included: catching a few cows for embryo transfer, breeding, and vaccination. It should be noted that the bovine caught for breeding, instead of being bred artificially, was granted a ‘traditional approach’. The female was a squat Hereford/Angus hybrid while the male was a rotund creature of Angus/Wagyu blood, and our intent is to see how small of an animal we can make without imposing dwarfism. In addition to this unique task, I checked the beef pasture and the barn for ailing animals. We returned indoors just as it began to rain for the second time.

Final Note: As I write today’s entry, more ice-cream is in the process of being churned. This time I’m using slightly more heavy cream in the ratio, and I’m going to add toasted coconut. Other than tending the delicacy and taking a ‘few’ taste tests, all today has left in store is the final beef pasture inspection, more writing if there is time before dinner, and leisure.

*This has been occurring for about a month now, so I can begin calling it morningly.
