(Above: An Embryo-Transfer Wagyu calf out of #447 [a brindled Brangus]. Found this morning during the early Segway ride.)
Summary: This day began with calisthenics, a beef pasture check with Padre, and a little bit of garden dusting* and weeding. I next ventured indoors and wrote until 11 AM. At that point, Madre and I took a ride into Sushi Bistro to acquire lunch. The hostess seemed especially kindly today, and it made me wonder aloud if she missed people coming in to dine. Her answer was ‘Very much’. Lunch occurred at 12:20 PM.
(6:13 PM Update:) Afternoon activities included some email correspondence, revising, and rest within the highbed. I next wrote a majority of this entry as a minor thunderstorm took place outside. Farm activities occurred at 3:08 PM and included: catching a couple embryo recipients, dehorning, checking the barn for ailing animals, and performing the evening beef pasture check with Padre. On returning to Jacobhouse, I started the oven heating up to roast walnuts. Afterward, those nuts shall be coated in chocolate and served atop cherry ice cream for dinner.
Final Note: After submitting this entry, I plan on experimenting a little bit in the kitchen with oats and barley in addition to the walnuts. Images of any notable results will be included with tomorrow’s entry.
*I ate about 5 or 6 little tomatoes for ‘breakfast’, and on delving into the lower portion of plants for more, I discovered the onset of another leaf-footed bug infestation. I want to continue enjoying the tomatoes, so I dusted the plants once again.
