10/2/2020 – Weeding begins

10/2/2020

(Above: A decidedly overgrown garden. Today I decided to start neatening it in preparation for autumn planting. Pictures of progress shall be posted in the next entry.)

Summary: Today began with calisthenics, piano practice, feeding Doug, and a partial-cleaning of Jacobhouse. This was ensued by beef pasture inspection and then by a return to my abode where I finished the weekly cleaning before engaging in 2 hours of writing. After sitting still for this amount of time, I was ready to move about, so I ventured outdoors and glued caps to some of the CPVC piping within Madre’s office*. After this, I returned to Jacobhouse where I listened to some PoA lecture before bringing three baked potatoes over to the Studio for lunch.

(7:02 PM Update:) Afternoon activities began with repose, watching the second portion of PoA lecture, and venturing into the cool outdoors where I helped Madre briefly with drilling a hole in her shower before visiting Garden #1 to begin weeding (spent about 15 minutes doing so). At 3:05 PM, I started helping with farm-related tasks, including: checking the beef pasture for ailing/active creatures, ensuring that a few of the active sort ran into the barn, capturing those rollicky animals out of that same barn, and later on (5:37 PM), riding out to the pasture with Padre to perform another inspection.

It should be noted that between helping with the cows and participating in that final pasture inspection, there was about 1.75 hours of aiding Madre with her office project. Today’s primary tasks were: pressure testing the pipes (successful thus far), wiring the water heater, and preparing / fitting / gluing a few CPVC-to-hose adapters. It was actually a fair bit of progress.

Final Note: After concluding this day’s entry, I shall be making Master Blend short-ribs for dinner. I believe those ribs shall be deboned, seared in a pan, and then finished in a low-temperature oven.

*I did this in the morning so I could pressure test the joints later in the day.
